Positioning the person for feeding
It is better if the family member is sitting on a chair, back properly supported.
In an articulated bed you should elevate the head of the bed and place the person to fowler position.
In case you do not have an articulated bed, you should use pillows to place your family member in fowler position.
After feeding, your family member must rest in the same position during 30-60 minutes to facilitate digestion, thus preventing regurgitation of food or vomit aspiration.
