Medication administration by nasogastric tube

 

  1. Wash hands.
  2. Pour water into a cup.
  3. Open pill container and use the pill-crusher adding water.
  4. Aspirate content into the syringe.
  5. Remove air from the syringe.
  6. Before administering medication check the placement of the tube.
  7. After administering medication, clean the tube by flushing it with 20ml of water.
