Syrup administration by nasogastric tube

  1. Wash hands.
  2. Pour water into a cup.
  3. Stir the syrup container.
  4. Pour the appropriate amount of syrup into the spoon.
  5. Pour into the cup and stir.
  6. Aspirate content into the syringe.
  7. Remove air from the syringe.
  8. Before administering medication check the placement of the tube.
  9. After administering medication, clean the tube by flushing it with 20ml of water.
