Dressing and undressing the person – introduction

Involving the person in choosing which clothes to wear promotes autonomy and participation in activities of daily living.

The caregiver must plan with the person in which order he/she wishes to dress the clothes and these must be placed in a nearby site.  Support items such as a buttoner, dressing hook, sock aid, long-handle shoehorn can facilitate this activity.
