Check regularly the expiry date of medications.
Find out which medications your family member needs to take on an empty stomach and which should be taken with food.
Pay special attention to medication dosage.
Do not value some medication over others. Take into account that all prescribed medication is necessary.
Be careful not to let your family member stop taking the medication. Ask for a new prescription before the medication runs out.
Do not double the medication dosage to make up for the missed dose. Get information about how to proceed with each medication.
Your family member should take the daily medication at a specific set time, thus avoiding missing medication.
Wash your hands before preparing medication.
Before administering medication check the prescription, medication, dosage, time and way of administering.
Explain your family member the purpose for taking each medication.
