If<\/b> your<\/b> family<\/b> member<\/b> is<\/b>\u00a0not\u00a0<\/strong>able<\/b> to stand <\/b>with<\/b> aid<\/b>, <\/b>then<\/b>:<\/b><\/p>\n

. Block the chair and bed wheels.<\/p>\n

. Lift the bed.<\/p>\n

. Remove the pillow from the head of your family member.<\/p>\n

. Move the family member as close to the edge of the bed.<\/p>\n

. Lift the head of the bed to a 90-degree angle if you have an articulated bed.<\/p>\n

. Cross arms and legs of your family member.<\/p>\n

. Place one hand in the shoulders and the other on the feet of your family member. In a single movement, pivot him\/her towards the edge of the bed into a sitting position.<\/p>\n

. Lower the bed to the height of the chair. It should be placed in a 35-degree angle in relation to bed.<\/p>\n

. Cross arms of your family member and place your arms around his\/her waist.<\/p>\n

. In a single swing movement, help him\/her to reach the chair.<\/p>\n

. If necessary, you should align your family member positioning.<\/p>\n

. Place yourself behind the chair, cross your family member arms and hold his\/her hands at the same time you push him\/her towards the chair.<\/p>\n
