  1. Lower the bed at chair level and block wheels.<\/li>\n
  2. Place the chair at a 30\u00ba angle to the bed, move footrest out of the way and block chair.<\/li>\n
  3. Place yourself in front of your family member, knees and hips bent to ensure balance and stability.<\/li>\n
  4. Cross patient\u2019s arms and place your hands on the patient\u2019s hips and move the patient to the bed at one go.<\/li>\n
  5. Position your family member.<\/li>\n
  6. Check for correct alignment of your family member\u2019s body<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
